At St Mary’s, we're passionate about young people coming to know, love and follow Jesus. We want to provide a safe place for everyone, no matter where they are at in their faith, to feel valued and accepted. We want to share the life-changing love of Jesus with young people and support and inspire them for a life of faith. Our aim is to invest in them as individuals, equip them with God’s word and encourage them to apply their faith to their daily lives and be open about their faith with their friends.
"Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well."
1 Thessalonians 2:8
During our Sunday morning services the young people leave to head up to the Vicarage for fun, games and Bible study. These groups are for all in school years 6-13 and the sessions are led by our Youth Pastor, Meg, and the fantastic team of volunteers.
Each term we have different social events going on, from BBQs in the warm weather to indoor activities such as bowling and movie nights. We also go away on an annual Youth Weekend Away which is always one of the highlights of the year. If you’d like to be kept in the loop about these events please let Meg know and she’ll add you to her mailing list.
Our young people are offered 1:1 mentoring to help deepen their faith and give them the space to ask questions they’d be nervous to ask in a group setting. This is done through going on walks, for a coffee, playing table tennis or spending time reading the Bible. The secondary school also refer young people to us to offer additional support.
Our weekly community youth club runs from 3.15-4.45pm on Fridays during term time at Glyme Hall. Come along for games, sports, crafts and a chance to chat. Check us out on the Remix Instagram page @remixchippy.
