Hello

At Joel Reed St Mary’s, we're passionate about young people coming to know, love and follow Jesus. We want to provide a safe place for everyone, no matter where they are at in their faith, to feel valued and accepted. We want to share the life-changing love of Jesus with young people and support and inspire them for a life of faith. Our aim is to invest in them as individuals, equip them with God’s word and encourage them to apply their faith to their daily lives and be open about their faith with their friends.

"Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well."
1 Thessalonians 2:8

Events

Ablaze

During our Sunday morning services the young people leave to head up to the Vicarage for fun, games and Bible study. This is for all in school years 7-13 and the sessions are led by our Youth Pastor, Joel, and the fantastic team of
volunteers.

Sunday Small Groups

Two youth small groups happen each week in the Parish Rooms; the first for school years 7-9 and the second for years 10-13, with the two overlapping for a shared meal and games. There’s lots of fun and games as well as sung worship and deeper Bible studies. Aimed at those wanting to deepen their faith and open up the Word.

Take a Hike

On a Saturday morning during term time, roughly every 5 weeks, we have a Boys’ Hike beginning at the Chipping Norton School at 9am. It finishes with a full English breakfast and a testimony back at the Parish Rooms, all finished by midday.

1:1 Mentoring

Our young people are offered 1:1 mentoring to help deepen their faith and give them the space to ask questions they’d be nervous to ask in a group setting. This is done through going on walks, for a coffee, playing table tennis or spending time reading the Bible. The secondary school also refer young people to us to offer additional support .

Remix

Our weekly community youth club runs from 3.15-4.45 on Fridays during term time at Glyme Hall. Come along for games, sports, crafts and a chance to chat. Check us out on the Remix
Instagram page @remixchippy.

Residentials

We really value time away together as a group and each year we join with a couple of other local churches to go on a youth weekend away. The next one is on the 23rd-25th September 2022 at Adventure Plus in Bampton. To sign up or for more information please contact Joel.

Socials

Each term we have social events too, from movie nights to days out in the park. All are welcome, more details on our next one to follow.
