ST. MARY'S MATTERS

Fruit sculptures at Remix
Dear Friends
At last week's Remix the young people had fun making fruit sculptures (some of the more creative ones are pictured above!) We're so grateful to our new Remix volunteers who have been so helpful in making sure that the young people can continue to get involved with games, crafts, sports, music and Xbox, as well as building relationships and finding out more about church. It's a great place to be, and there's always room for more helpers, so please drop Joel a line if you'd like to find out more. (youth@stmaryscnorton.com)

In this week's Mary's Matters we have an invitation from the "Monday Mums", and a great website recommendation in "Resource of the Week".

Wherever you are we pray that you know God's care this week.

Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15 When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.

Matthew 19:13-14

MONDAY MUMS

Monday mums has been up and running for a few months now and is proving to be a real encouragement for those of us who are part of the group. As the name suggests, we are a group of mums with small children who meet together in the Parish Rooms on a Monday morning to chat, eat cake, study the Bible together and pray for one another. This term we are delving into Romans which is a tricky book at times! It has been hugely encouraging to work through passages together and help one another understand God’s word better, and then think about how we can be putting it into practice. We are so thankful that there is a crèche available for our children, meaning that we are able to really focus during this special time together. Our thanks go to Bekah Wiseman and Anna Mitchell in particular for taking such great care of our little ones, and for giving up their time to serve us mums in this way.

We would LOVE more mums with small children to be able to join us, so we are looking at changing the day and time when we start up again properly in September. If you would like to join us please do get in touch with Katy McFaul or Meg Carter (katymcfaul@googlemail.com/ megan.bray@cantab.net) and we will try to find a more suitable time. Do then keep an eye out for more information when this has all been decided.

What a blessing and a privilege it is to be able to meet in this way and to carve out a time each week to support one another and to study the Bible together.
