ST. MARY'S MATTERS

Beans grown by a life skills family from seeds in their wellbeing pack!!
Dear Friends
A huge thank you goes out to all of our holiday club volunteers, and to all of the invited families who attended this week and made the two days so enjoyable.

We've included a selection of photos below, so that everyone can see what we got up to!

If you weren't at holiday club, but you you'd love to spend some time relaxing and having fun in good company, then your chance is coming up! Our church away day is on the 5th September and the whole congregation is invited. If bouncy castles aren't really your thing, there will also be crafts, music, lawn games, inspiring input, and tea & cakes - hopefully something for everyone.

You can find the sign up link in the article below.

Please continue to pray for families this week as they navigate the ups and downs of six weeks' of school holiday.

You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.

Isaiah 55:12

PHOTOS OF THE WEEK

This week St. Mary's ran two amazing holiday club days for families known to us in Chipping Norton. The church was transformed, with a bouncy castle where the minister normally stands! Visitors enjoyed pottery, cookery, crafts and games - with some amazing sausage rolls for lunch (from Wild Thyme), and left with take-home bags, equipped to keep them busy baking and growing together at home. It was a privilege to see everyone enjoying the day together and to realise how well relationships had developed over the last couple of years.

SERMON SERIES: GOD'S GREEN LIST

If you could go anywhere, where would you go?

It's time to pack your imaginary bags and set off on an adventure. Each week over the summer we'll be heading for a ‘destination’ that we’re visiting together on this grand summer tour. In our "God’s Green List" sermon series we'll be focussing on future hope, the coming kingdom, open access to God and blessing.

Last Sunday Toby started us off by taking us to The River in Ezekiel (the place of blessing). This Sunday we'll be looking forward to spending some time with Ursula in Psalm 23's Green Pastures - (the place of rest).

Whilst we can’t go to other countries for holidays this summer, God is preparing an incredible destination for us right now! So let's explore..

BECOME A PRAYER WARRIOR

“So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying for him.”  Acts 12:5

Peter’s miraculous escape from prison was, I am sure, in no small way a result of the prayers of the faithful church members gathered at the house of Mary, the mother of John. We are so fortunate at St Mary’s to have a large band of Pray-ers who faithfully commit to responding to the various requests we share together by praying – ‘weeping with those who weep and rejoicing with those who rejoice’. There is real assurance in knowing that so many are ‘with us, alongside’, particularly in our difficulties.

Anyone can ask for prayer through the Prayer Tree (steeleshouse6@gmail.com) and each request is passed on to over 100 others. If you would like to receive these requests and commit to holding them before the Lord – sometimes for a long period of time - please let Emily know.

By the way, it is always great to hear about answers to these prayers, so do keep us informed! ( And it means we can stop praying for that one and thank the Lord!)

Thank you to faithful Prayer Warriors!

At The Branch we aim to provide spaces where people can grow, connect and step into playing a meaningful part in their community.
