Toby's induction at St. Mary's Church, Attenborough
Dear Friends
You may want to get your diary out this week as we have plenty of news of upcoming events, including our volunteers' event (7th November), church cleaning (6th November), the return of the popular Men's Curry event (24th October) and Youth Alpha (7th November).
Amongst all the news, don't miss the wonderful story from congregation member Bob Hayward, and another chance to enjoy the video from our harvest festival.
The fantastic news this week is that the church boiler is fixed, so the 8am and 10.30am will both be running as usual this Sunday, in a comfortable temperature. Thank you God!
My name will be great among the nations, from where the sun rises to where it sets. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to me, because my name will be great among the nations,” says the Lord Almighty.
The boiler is now fixed and the church will be warm for the 8am service and the 10.30am service this Sunday!
A huge thank you to the team who have been working hard this week to make it happen. You are very appreciated.
YOUTH ALPHA
Youth Alpha in Chippy
Following on from a successful event in which we hosted Warren ‘Ace’ Furman from the 90’s TV Show “Gladiators” we had a number of requests to run an Alpha course for young people. At the end of the half term week the young people are attending a youth weekend away and we intend to run the Youth Alpha course off the back of this.
The Alpha course seeks to introduce the basics of the Christian faith through a series of talks and discussions. It is described by the organisers as “an opportunity to explore the meaning of life”.
We are initially running this for 5 weeks on a Sunday evening at the Parish Rooms, beginning on the 7th November and finishing on Sunday 5th December.
If you know anyone in years 7-13 who would like to come along to this then please email Joel Reed on youth@stmaryscnorton.com for more information.

We look forward to seeing you!
BOB HAYWARD'S STORY
Here, congregation member, Bob, shares with us a wonderful story about listening to God's voice and finding God's amazing hand in the day-to-day workings of our lives.
