Children are most welcome
At St. Mary's we are keen to engage with children of all ages providing fun, challenging and creative opportunities to meet with and worship God. We run weekly assemblies at St. Mary's School which is a foundation Church School where Church members are represented on the board of governors. We also have a programme of major events throughout the year to give children the opportunity to explore their faith. This Christmas we are running a Sticky Church Christmas Special which includes an interactive telling of the Nativity story with the children all taking part, followed by the animation 'A Small Miracle' which tells the story of a nativity set that comes to life to help an old lady survive Christmas. After a drink and snack we are making a Christmas craft to take home and hang on the Christmas tree.
At Penhurst school we are holding a Christmas special service in the Church using sound, light, music, images and touch to celebrate the Christmas story.

Sticky Church
Sticky Church is a fun session run in the parish rooms at St. Mary's. It starts with a sticky activity such as an art and craft or cookery followed by a story from the Bible and games. Sticky Church takes place every Sunday in the month at 10:45 except the fourth Sunday when the eXplore service takes place. We currently cater for two age group for under 7's and one for over 7's. So do come along, have fun, make friends and get sticky!
Creche
There is a creche corner in the St. John's aisle (far side of the church) with soft toys and games for babies and under threes. This is not supervised so we ask that a parent or guardian accompany any children there. The creche is available at every 10:45 service.
